Sexcapade is a short film that my research partners, Jasmine Rivera and Karolina Valerio-Romero, and I created to address the vulnerable groups involved in unregulated sex tourism in the Dominican Republic. Many times, the travel industry and certain groups of sex workers, such as children and Haitian immigrants, involve themselves in this market, although they may be aware of the physical, emotional, and economic dangers the market entails. As there aren't sufficient regulations being enforced over the country's sex tourism by the Dominican government, who should take on the responsibility of regulating it?

Sexcapade has been our semester-long project for a graduate class at the University of Miami called Global Issues and Filmmaking (INS 569/669).
